MG S5 EV
The MG S5 EV is a fully electric medium SUV that went on sale in New Zealand in July 2025. Two variants are available, the 49 Essence and 62 Essence, priced from $46,990 to $52,990.
WLTP range is 335 km on the 49 Essence and up to 465 km on the 62 Essence, from batteries of 51 to 65 kWh.
In May 2026, the entry level Excite variants were removed from the lineup - leaving the Essence variants (with larger battery, longer range, and more power).
MG S5 EV 62 Essence (2025)
MG S5 EV 62 EssenceThe Essence trim brings: 18" wheels, heated front seats, 6-way electric adjustable driver's seat, rear seat centre console, power tailgate, heated steering wheel, electronic sunroof, rain sensor wiper, rear privacy glass, 360° camera.
Note that up until mid 2026 - the S5 had a range of 425 km, and power of 125 kW. This increase is due to electric motor improvements.
