What is the 'real' range of the Atto 3?

Real range depends on your individual driving habit and the roads you use. As a rule of thumb, if all your driving is open road or motorway, expect a range of about 320 km in the long-range model.

China uses the CLTC (China light-duty vehicle test cycle), and the range values for the BYD Yuan Plus (as the Atto 3 is called in China) are different.

The CLTC is a different cycle from the WLTP, and its range values are much higher.

However, research shows a WLTP equivalent is around 74-84% of the CLTC range.

  • Yuan Plus (49.92 kWh) CLTC range: 430 km. WLTP range: 318-361 km.
  • Yuan Plus (60.48 kWh) CLTC range: 510 km. WLTP range: 377-428 km.

Atto 3 V2L output

There is nothing in the official specs or the owner's manual.

However, home testing (here) showed the V2L output was 2,200 W (continuous). The tester was able to draw 3,200 W (indicating a peak). This is consistent with a typical household 10A draw.
