New EV models arriving into NZ are dependent on global supply issues and dealership decisions. Typically things tend to get pushed out later than anticipated - but not always. This is a dynamic market and things are always changing.
Rumours
As EV models increase around the world, only time will tell what ends up being distributed in NZ
- VW ID. Buzz - the electric succesor to the Combi. 82 kWh / ~ 400 km. Uncertain whether NZ VW will get this due to demand in Europe.
- Renault Megane e-Tech (40kWh / 300km range and 60kWh / 470km) - full electric hatchback/crossover. Production in Europe from 2022.
- Rivian R1T - The Rivian will be the first all-electric ute to reach production. The US-made vehicle may be distributed in Australia (unconfirmed), and possibly NZ.
- Range Rover - Land Rover announced a full-electric Range Rover for 2024.
