The EC40 is an electric SUV coupe – called initially the C40 Recharge (name changed in 2024). It is available in single and dual motor variants and is based on the Compact Modular Architecture shared with the Volvo EX40 and Polestar 2.
The EC40 has a unique sloping rear hatch and stretched segmented rear taillights. It is also the first model from Volvo to be completely leather-free. The top-spec Recharge Twin has a microtech and textile interior with backlit map panels on the dashboard and door cards.
2023 Volvo C40 Recharge Plus | Electric Car Review
"The design is iconically Volvo, and the interior is as comfy as the Swedish future gets. There is a great level of tech and market-leading safety features. The 78Kwh battery provides a super-practical 451km range. If you're looking for a mid-sized EV for a couple of small families, the C40 Recharge is something you need to try, especially if you want to stand out from the crowds of Teslas on the road these days."
"The Volvo C40 Recharge is a great crossover and a giant step forward as the brand evolvoes, oops evolves to being EV only. Plenty of range and plenty of tech, just personally, I would go for a little more Ultimate power."
