Ateco Automotive bought the BYD brand (Build Your Dreams) to NZ in 2022. BYD is a Chinese multinational automobile company based in Shenzhen and a leading manufacturer of EVs.
BYD is also one of the world’s leading producers of batteries, allowing the car brand to produce and supply most of the materials needed for production.
BYD set up a nationwide dealership in NZ with outlets in all cities.
